Wartime Homecoming

Hmm. I've only been in the country for a matter of hours and the first two people I've had conversations with were an aspiring Navy SEAL on his way to boot camp and the owner of Minnesota Defense, a company that manufactures electronics for the defense and national security markets.

"matt zumwalt" gay

According to google analytics, a recent visitor found this blog by searching for "matt zumwalt" gay. Does anyone else find that amusing? Were they trying to say "I'm looking for matt zumwalt, the gay one." or were they asking "Is matt zumwalt gay?" Possibly I will never know.

By the way, almost all of my regular traffic goes to a single post from 2006 about the handkerchief code.

TIBET ACTIVISTS SCALE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE TO PROTEST CHINA’S TORCH RELAY

Ah, memories...

TIBET ACTIVISTS SCALE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
TO PROTEST CHINA’S TORCH RELAY

High Profile Action Demands ‘No Torch in Tibet’

San Francisco – Seven Tibet independence activists were detained this afternoon after three of them scaled the Golden Gate Bridge and unfurled a large protest banner reading “One World, One Dream, Free Tibet 08.” The three climbers remained on the bridge for about 2 hours before coming down voluntarily. Upon their descent they were met and arrested by officers of the California Highway Patrol. The daring action comes two days before China’s torch relay is expected to be greeted by thousands of Tibet protesters from across North America when it arrives in San Francisco.

Lean, Healthy Southern Pride Beef.

I was looking for this fabled music sharing site that's really really hard to get into but has a really high quality archive. I thought the name was oink.com. Guess it's not. Ended up finding this instead...

England: Conferences, Twitter, Blogs and a bit of romance

I haven't been blogging since I flew from Berlin to London. It all started with a little romantic tryst that's now been manually fizzled by my counterpart. Then I shot down to Southampton for this conference, which was kinda disappointing until today.

Been reading a huge amount of blogs lately, many recommended by the tasty Mr. Ducker: swissmiss, NOTCOT, MoCo Loco, streetsy, wooster collective, the TSA blog ... been so busy consuming other people's content I haven't had time to produce any of my own.

I've been twittering pretty regularly though. It's nice having a really small list of followers on there. I can say whatever I want!
